Sweet and Sour sauce is a family crowd pleaser, it’s bonkers easy to make and ready in two minutes. You can use this for sweet and sour pork or chicken and it’s a fantastic dipping sauce for meatballs. You can keep the sauce in the fridge for a week, you might just need to add some extra vinegar when you go to cook it as it can lose some tang over time. If you like heat you can add some chilli powder to the sauce.

INGREDIENTS
Makes 200ml of Sauce

100ml cider vinegar
120g brown sugar
75ml water
75g ketchup
1 tbsp cornflour
1 tbsp soy sauce

  • Chuck everything into a pan over a medium high heat and whisk until the sauce thickens (about 2 minutes). It’s that easy. Store any leftover sauce in a sterilized jar in the fridge for a week.

Do not to tip fat down the sink, always let it cool then put in the bin. I cook meatballs this way to use in pasta dishes, for meatball sandwiches, for soups of for meatballs dipped in sweet and sour sauce. […]
